Singing in Harmony for Harfest
It was Little Belter’s absolute pleasure to be part of this year’s Harfest music festival in Altrincham, and a privilege to be chosen as the opening act!
Yes, that’s right, our plucky and courageous young choir, (some of whom are only 5 years old!) put all their nerves and excitement to one side, got up on the main stage, performed like professionals and sang their hearts out.
They entertained a packed crowd of 100’s who stomped, cheered and danced to our modern, rock and pop set list, including classics such as Nirvana ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’, Phil Oakey’s ‘Electric Dreams’ and Queen’s ‘Radio Ga Ga’ and Calvin Harris’ ‘Giant’.
Our 40 strong group, who have been rehearsing for this performance during their weekly choir sessions, belted out a half hour and totally stole the show!
Co-organisers of Harfest, The Music Place and Altrincham Market asked Little Belters to open Harfest for a second year. Harfest is about celebrating the strong community in Altrincham, as well as raising money for an amazing charity that supports children suffering from Rett Syndrome. And we were delighted to give our time and voices to support this fantastic event.
It is these once-in-a-lifetime performance opportunities we like to give our Little Belters. Our choir sessions run in Altrincham, Sale and Chorlton, but we work our socks off to secure regular opportunities to perform on everything from CBBC, to BBC Radio, to performing in stunning venues such as Stoller Hall, and with singing sensations such as Jane McDonald for her Channel 5 Christmas Specials.
